Aqualandia Benidorm – VERTI-GO new attraction for summer 2013
VERTI_GO is a new attraction which will open in the Benidorm Water Park Aqualandia on the 1st of August this summer .
Georges Santa Maria (President of Aqualandia) and Joaquín Valera (General Manager) presented the water park's star attraction VERTI_GO yesterday at a press conference.
This new attraction consists of two shutes, one measuring 28 meters in height and 95 metres in length and the other 33 metres in height and 100 metres in length.
The 33 metre slide will be the highest slide in Europe and the highest Capsule Slide in the world. Currently there is no other slide with these characteristics or height anywhere in the world. The highest to date being a 25 metre slide in America.
The slide is known as a capsule slide due to the fact that clients have to enter a capsule standing up . A trap door opens under their feet without warning and the client free falls vertically.
Access to the slide is via a 42 metre tower offering spectacular views of Benidorm. Body weight and gravity influence the speed of the descent which is approximately 100 kilometres per hour in less than three seconds.
“It’s like jumping from a thirteen storey building” said Joaquin Valera.
The attraction will open from the 1st of August.

This new attraction has taken months to construct. The tower 42 metres high, to which both slides are attached has foundations 15 metres deep, 70 metres long and 10 metres wide and is constructed from galvanized iron so it wont rust.
